The Alákijà Pants are crafted from aso oke and draw inspiration from traditional cowrie money bags, once used to store wealth, trade value, and personal belongings. The oversized side pockets echo the shape and presence of these historic bags, transforming them into functional design elements that sit boldly on the body.

Designed with utility at its core, the Alákijà Pants feature cargo pockets alongside large, bag-shaped side pockets that reference old systems of wealth and exchange. These details ground the piece in history while reimagining it through a contemporary lens.

The silhouette is structured yet fluid, with a distinctive folded hem at the bottom that adds weight and form to the trousers. A soft cotton batik waistband, finished with elastic and adjustable drawstrings, provides comfort and balance against the heavier aso oke fabric.
